And this was the status on Saturday afternoon, with one coat over everything and drizzle coming in. I'm heading down there now to see if it'll be possible to put on a second coat.

Two coats on the foredeck
This was Shadow's status on Friday, with two coats on the foredeck, one on the middeck, and none in the cockpit.

First coat of primer
This is what the foredeck looked like after one coat of pre-kote, applied with one of those silly little foam brushes. It'll definitely need one more coat...

Paint stripping madness
I've spent daytime of the last three days on the boat, ostensibly stripping the effing paint off so I can repaint it. But I've decided to finally give up. I'm going use the chemical stripper on the the areas around the lazarette vents (again) and the cockpit floor, but after that I'm only using the razor on smooth spots and calling the prep done. Then I need to tape things off and paint. Pete came down and kept me company on Saturday, and Eric came down Sunday. Today I somehow got a very late start... Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Winter
Holy crap! What with moving, rains, winds and work there has been *no* time to do anything boat related this winter. I've made a little bit of progress on the paint stripping, but it is sloooow and painful. The stanchions, lifelines, blocks and cleats will have to come off for painting, but I'm leaving them for the very last minute, since removing them makes the boat un-sailable. I'm planning to go down to CIH this coming weekend and go absolutely midieval on these projects. I suspect I'll also have to go up the stick and redo some electrics at some point.

Scraping by
Scraped lots of paint again today, mostly inside the cockpit. I'll go out on a limb and say that I think it'll probably take 3-4 more visits to get all of it done. It is such painstaking work!
